My parents were horrible people. I remember being about 6 and thinking if that's what it's like to be a father I never want to be one. They were so unhappy I told myself I never wanted to get married. I have never been married or had kids.

@hunkalove I married, and the marriage has been moderately successful.
Neither of us had kids.
I'm reasonably sure that if we had we would have made a terrible mess of it.
Now, with global warming and all the other ills in the world, I feel certain that not having had kids was one of the best decisions of our lives.

@hartfire I have never understood why anyone would want to bring a child into this horrible world. I doubt that a child born today will live to see 50.
