Do you use Similar Worlds as an excuse not to do something?

I watched an episode of Mrs Maisel last night. (side note, if you haven't seen it, watch it.)

Anyway, the scenes where the old comic regresses back to the thing that's comforting instead of acting appropriately in the show reminded me of how I use Similar Worlds and how, I suspect, others do to.

I admit to using SW as a place to get away and be entertained. But, I also use it when I should be doing other things, other things that I either find distasteful, or things that are going to leave me vulnerable.

The thing is, the old comic had already demonstrated that should can act. But, when things didn't go precisely as she had envisioned, she regressed to a comfortable place. What's ironic is that she had a great opportunity and she blew it.

So, I'm not going to blow it.

I'm hanging around here. This isn't some kind of goodbye. Nor is this a proclamation that I won't be as active as I have been in the past few months.

But, if I do this right, that's probably what will happen.

Curious if anyone else needs a kick in the pants to re-engage with his or her life.

@SW-User Been there. Done that. No point in leaving. That would be disingenuous. (Because I'd come back)

Yes. I use SW to avoid doing things that are either very difficult for me...or I just don't feel like doing, far too often. While I might need a kick in the pants to quit that, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't do it.
I figuratively beat myself up over it all the time...yet here I am. 🤦‍♀️

I stay, because interacting with people here is less stupid and annoying than interacting with most people IRL.
