Do you think SW would be better if we could set our profiles to filter out political posts like we can with adult posts?

Absolutely 👍️

I would like it if questions, as well as stories, were categorized by group, and we only saw the posts in the groups we were members of.

But for that to work, each groups would have to have rules about what could be posted there, and there would have to be moderators for the groups. Otherwise people would post political things in nonpolitical groups, sexual things in nonsexual groups, etc.

Great idea👍️@DrWatson

@DrWatson That's way too much work hahahaha

@SW-User Oh, I know. It would be a very different site. I once belonged to a site like that, and I thought it worked well. But the software was designed for that sort of thing from the very beginning. And there was a large community of people who lived in the same town who ran the place, so there were plenty of moderators who knew each other and could meet in person to discuss things. (The site was run off a mainframe computer at a university.)

If I do not like or agree with a post. I do not read them entirely, and I skip over them not getting caught in their political agenda. I choose not to read or to learn about what annoys me, and that is good enough for me.

There is always the block button too~

I agree. Most of the time, people post political stuff in a manor that they know will cause trouble.

Then it would be very quiet with the occasional masturbation or weird fetish post

There's a mute button for a reason.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@DearAmbellina2113 I see the block button on people's profiles. Where is the mute option, and how is muting different from blocking? (I know that sounds like a newbie question, but I am pretty sure I have never blocked anyone, so I am not used to thinking about these things!)

I wish that was a feature.

I don't filter anything. I just ignore stuff I don't want to see at the moment.

@Backtoscratch It's a useful skill

@Backtoscratch It can be developed

Well, politics isn't all about Trump-this and America-that. Of course, that's the majority that people post about... But still.

I'd sooner block or mute a certain user because they're volatile with their political posts, than block a category completely.

Much filtering is needed while other filters currently are not.

No...that is what your brain is for, lol 😜
I do wish they could allow us to filter out specific groups and topics, although personally I don’t mind politics.
