Has participation in posts decreased lately?

I recall a few months ago there used to be many responses to posts, but nowadays I see more posts with less than 10 comments.

Maybe it's just me...

The old users do not gather at the same time peehaps.

It depends on what kind of post. A naked thread gets a lot of responses. So does a political or religious thread.
