What is the difference between a friend and a follower and how can I return the gesture if someone follows me?

When both of you are following each other, that makes you "friends" for the purposes of this site.

@SOUTHERNSTAR2035: You go to their profile and add them (the face with the +). That makes you a follower. If they add you back, then you're on each other's friend and circle lists.
