How do you deal with members here who are always depressed and bring your mood down?

Will always try to help friends but I do tend to mute newer people who arrive on the scene and do nothing but complain day after day with absolutely no signs of stopping nor wanting to consider suggestions for improving their situation. Vent away, fair enough, but comes a point where I just can’t listen anymore.

I have to skip. Not that I don’t care but I come here to escape the real world and people like that in my real life. If somebody needed me I’d be here but overall I don’t reply to posts about it.

I try my best to cheer them up, but I’m not going to work to a point where it brings me down. That’s my rule to myself. 👍🏻

I scroll past it most of the time. It is always the same females repeating the same thing every 20 minutes or so

If I think I can help, I offer an encouraging word. Some people don't want any help at all. I don't let their mood be mine and ruin my day.The only things I can't deal with are those I'm-here-to-spend-the-day-what-are-you-going-to-say folks. No matter what you say, they make a "fresh" remark or curse you out if you don't give them the last word. And you are just TRYING to be nice.

I might try to say something encouraging if few others are. If a lot of people are already trying to help, I may just let those other people handle it. That is especially true if the depressed person says that only depressed people can understand how he/she feels.

Nice to cheer people up. And vent. That's it.

Its not easy; there are a lot of depressed people on here. I try to be compassionate, but I also believe their best help is not here so I encourage them to seek help.

I try not to allow that to happen.There are a lot of good people here.
