Does verifying an account not defeat the concept of anonymity on SW?

Nothing.

Nothing happens to people who don’t verify. Just like nothing happens to users who don’t purchase VIP, nothing happens to users who don’t write an About Me, nothing happens to users who don’t give gifts, and nothing happens to users who don’t use any other option given on this site.

Why does everyone assume that SW is built on the concept it anonymity? Was that a mission statement that I missed? Users have always been free to share as much or as little as they like. How does something that is optional threaten someone’s choice to be anonymous?

Most of the people who have varified are those who regularly post pics of themselves anyway, along with a few others..

It's a New feature, use it or don't use it, nobody is forcing the issue..

I agree, one of the major reasons I use SW is because I don't have to fully register with addresses etc. Phone numbers, post a pic etc. The anonymity is key for me. I truly believe being unverified will be phased out as part of the joining protocol.Eventually there will be none left.

I understand serious hackers could still get my personal email, but after my email ? Good luck! Lol.
