People read and see what they want to. It has nothing to
do with actual reality.

I used to be active on a forum I eventually left because of how often my questions were never answered, but I got a surprising amount of replies that had nothing to do directly with the question asked.
I rarely ask anything here.

I think answering whatever is on their mind in relation t the topic is very common. I do it myself from time to time.
