I came upon this insight while preparing a pasta dish, if it speaks to you please don't be afraid to comment. Shine on! <3

You see the onion, as sweet as some can be can be also extremely bitter and noxious. I find myself in tears at the sight of an open onion , and slowly I cut away each layer, upon layer and yet another one. My tears become stronger and the smells become more intense. As I awaken to each layer of onion, I see how painful Truth can be, of a simple food staple. Upon this afternoons meal preparation I found this and I realized it does contain a reality for all of us on the path to realization. Many describe awakening in a way that makes my stomach ache and presumably many others who have witnessed the pain, upon seeing through the veils of deception. Do be aware of this, and it doesn't matter how big the knife, how fancy the cutting board for the Onions power is far greater than yours, so it is given that the Truth will hurt, it may sting and it may seep into your Consciousness and senses so profoundly and you will never forget it! So I bow to the great power of the Onion and it's symbolic nature of "cutting away" to the Ultimate reality we would like (myself included) to experience. In the meantime, cover your eyes with some goggles and do your work, for the fruits of your labor will also go great with a nice light green, red and oily salad. And then we can digest our success with a sense of well being and gratitude, and there is nothing greater than this! Don't be afraid of the onion, embrace it! Don't be afraid of Truth, embrace, digest...repeat!" :)
