This is probably a dumb idea, but I'm going to write it here anyway.
There are four factions: the Elves, the Orcs, Dragonkin, and the Humans.
- The Elves are technological, and make use of thralls to perform their more menial and labour intensive tasks. They have not long since undergone a revolution, the details of which are scant beyond their borders.
- The Orcs are an old and dying civilisation, the last remnants of a world long past. They tend to be more magical than technological, with their innate magical abilities being used to power their technology.
- The Dragonkin are a race of barbarians, a ravening horde of tribes which have loosely banded together to take back the lands which they consider "theirs". The Dragonkin are bloodthirsty and torturous.
- The humans are relatively young, and related to the Elves. Although not as technologically savvy or as magical as other races, the humans have numbers on their side. In the eastern regions of the human kingdoms, oppressed ethnic groups have begun a series of guerrilla campaigns seeking to bring about a revolution backed by the Elves.
