I Have a Bedtime

I had a strict bedtime living at home even at 24.

I am glad you do. A girl needs rules and limits for her own good

I had the same rules until the day I left to be married. My husband also has a bedtime for me now as he says he knows best.

It's a long time ago for me, but a formal bedtime was quite common for me and my friends. Mine was 10pm when next day was schooldays, or 11pm Friday/Sat. That was until I finished university at 21. As i got older, and hadn't been in trouble during the week, I could easily get an extension at weekends, but never past midnight. Parents viewed us making sure we were in bed by bedtime as a test of self-discipline. They didn't warn or anything like that. But missing bedtime guaranteed a punishment.

Same. I'm almost never allowed to stay up late.

Me too until I left home at 21. I remember being a young adult think about how some of my peers were getting married. Many others were out late partying. Here I was their same age but mommy was making me go to bed.

She would never forget either. Often times we would be watching TV and in the middle of the show she would tell me it's my bedtime. If I hesitated and didn't march right up to bed my mom would yell at me so loud.

what was your bedtime?

@MrsPeterEvans caning sounds a bit much for breaking curfew. I'm guessing the brush was more common? What did your father like you to wear to bed?
MrsPeterEvans · 31-35, F
@mrwhiterabbit a nightie.
