My father raised me strictly Christian. I believe all is God's decision

SW-User
I believe God gave us a brain and an ability to choose.

I grew up atheist. I came to realize that atheism doesn't work so I became a Christian. Not my choice. God called me.
@hippyjoe1955 I had a similar experience to you - brought up away from Christianity mostly, and despite my best efforts to run away from God He still found me and brought me into his flock! I think there's something really wonderful about the whole free will/predetermination paradox...

@similarexperience Very true. I would love to claim credit for my choosing God but I know in my heart of hearts that He chose me. I am seemingly along for the ride.

So prayer is useless, because God knows what you want and will decide if he gives it to you or not.

I mean intercessionary prayer. Obviously worship prayer is different.

God gave us free will. Hence, we have the freedom to make our own choices. Not everything is His decision. If this were the case, there would be no evil or chaos.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
That would tend to take away free will, so if all is ordained, why do anything?
WSEIII · 51-55, M
Exactly, we wouldn't be able to sin if we didn't have free will.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
It would seem to take free will out of the equation ...

I think so too.
