I Am Christian

I don't believe creationism can compete with evolution when it comes to logically and consistently explaining the evidence we see.

Using an evolutionary model we would expect to see life on earth going from less complex to more complex as adaptations compound. If we look at the fossil record, this is exactly what we see. Simple invertebrates to fish to reptiles to mammals and so on. And while we do of course see simple organisms coexisting with complex ones ( just look at an earth worm) we never see something like a ichthyosaur in a fossil bed with trilobites. Nowhere. Ever.
From a creation standpoint where the animals were created at around the same time we would expect to see animals at all stages of complexity mixed together. And yet we find these fossil beds with exclusively “simple” organisms.

Does anyone have a better explanation for that evidence from a creation perspective?

no one has a logical explanation for creationism because it isn't based on scientific based evidence. it's irrefutable that evolution is how things evolved. when you say it's a theory it's just the name of the thing. it's not a theory itself because it was extremely extensivly proven. it's a law. a fact. a reality. the same as the sky being blue.
even catholic church admits and supports and even studies evolution.
creationists only exist in ameritardia. no one is that stupid anywhere else on the planet

@unknownpoetx Maybe this helps you understand; however, it doesn't seem to be 'understanding' you seek:

http://undsci.berkeley.edu/teaching/misconceptions.php

Pay special attention to Misconception #13 which states: "If evidence supports a hypothesis, it is upgraded to a theory. If the theory then garners even more support, it may be upgraded to a law."

By the way, being on the topic of fossils, this project to bring the misinformed to a better understanding of science was created by the University of California's Museum of Paleontology.

Enjoy your coming to Jesus moment, poet.

you are really working hard to make yourself look like a retard

@unknownpoetx. Come on. Is that really the best you can do? And you call yourself a wordsmith.

Who says creation happened biblically. It could just as easily been created to evolve

@Celine not to say life started as depicted in the bible but isn't it interesting how many truths it contains that people of that day could never have known. For example: By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken;

How could they have known we were made from this earth. Science has proved we are made of the elements of the earth. Interesting

surprises me that I've found time to waste on this subject. it's so stupid that doesn't even deserve a second of my life. it's completely fucked up and absurd. facts are facts and you can't argue about them. even the pope accepts and embraces science and evolution with complete certain.
I really have a hard time thinking about the possibility of people believing in creationism. stupidity has no limits. fortunately I never met someone like that

@unknownpoetx The link you offered led to a long, and rather tedious tract of sophistic waffle that tries to make an argument for 'theistic evolution', diverts away into 'imago dei' (thereby smoothly begging the question), and contains such gems as:
Catholic theology affirms that that the emergence of the first members of the human species (whether as individuals or in populations) represents an event that is not susceptible of a purely natural explanation and which can appropriately be attributed to divine intervention. Acting indirectly through causal chains operating from the beginning of cosmic history, God prepared the way for what Pope John Paul II has called “an ontological leap...the moment of transition to the spiritual.”

Hilarious!

'an ontological leap'! In other words... then a miracle occurred!

(actually, paragraph 69 is the really funny part)

so you ignore your own religion? lol https://archive.secondspring.co.uk/articles/benedict9.htm

@unknownpoetx I have no idea what you're trying to say... perhaps you could clarify your remark for me... and perhaps you could detail the relevance of the link you just posted?

I'm not really good at this subject, but I've been told that fossils were created during the flood with Noah. The different creatures being in different layers of earth was because animals fled to higher grounds and some animals were better than that than others.

@Celine Hehe, sorry my knowledge is limited on this subject.

The evolution of ideas is well documented. Just look at cars 100 years ago compared to now. Computers.. all technology. Music?? Umm, that's a matter of opinion :)
Evolution of critters on Earth could be ideas evolving in the mind of a creator... ?

Then why you posting this under
I Am Christian
? 😆

Oh, fine! you got my attention but it's 12:22 AM here and I'm really tired.. So, maybe we could talk later...
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M
This is so utterly stupid. Not accepting evolution is actually AGAINST Christian values.

@unknownpoetx Great opening statement- just needs backing up now.

There's a more crazy anti science movement at the moment. Social justice warriors denying biology.
