schools from other countries have such strict dress codes

Meanwhile I just walked to school in my pajamas and a bath robe

When I went to school I wasn't even allowed jewellery make up or earrings other than studs and uniform policy was strict
Sharon · F
@Marceline: That's a stupid rule to have is a hot climate. Par for the course I suppose.
Marceline · F
@Sharon: on principal i am fine with school uniforms.. but they should be revisioned for sanity
Sharon · F
@Marceline: The biggest problem with school uniforms in the UK is that they have to be bought from the schools' "official suppliers". Those suppliers have to pay large bribes to the schools to be so appointed. To recoup that money, school uniforms are grossly overpriced. We often hear of impoverished parents having to choose between buying the uniform or eating!

A second problem is that schools are really petty about enforcing uniform rules. I recently heard about a case where the school sent children home or put them in isolation becaiuse their uniforms were wrong - even though the had been bought from the official suppliers. It seems the school decided to change the rules without telling anyone.

For real? If that was the school i went, they wouldn't even allow you in the building.

Haha yeah, we're allowed to wear whatever we want. The school even has a list of dares for graduate students which includes taking a class in nothing but underwear, it's pretty crazy.
tallpowerhouseblonde · 31-35, F
Hahaha lol

[c=#BF0080]In good weather I was at school wearing short shorts with bare feet. [/c]
Ross19 · 31-35, M
@tallpowerhouseblonde: Interesting. Some schools do have weird rules especially here in Uk.
I used to do all pe barefoot in or out and I loved it.
tallpowerhouseblonde · 31-35, F
@Ross19: way to go its harder for guys to ditch footware.
Ross19 · 31-35, M
@tallpowerhouseblonde: Thanks. In school PE was barefoot as per the rules. However now I'm an adult I do find barefoot outside time to be quite a rare treat. Although I last went for a barefoot hike last Sunday.

Thats scandinavia for yah
Sharon · F
@MartinTheFirst: I'm sure there's more to Norge than just that intersection. ;) I've been told to go to Hell a few times, I believe it's somewhere near Oslo.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Sharon: meh, citylife, nothing special, it will become what you make it.
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
@Marceline: @MartinTheFirst: Lol it depends on where you are in Norway. That's what Oslo looks like. Most of Norway is beautiful, especially during the summer.
SandInMyShoes · 36-40, F
I had a uniform but they weren't that strict about it, it had to be the right colours though.
Sharon · F
You're lucky. Not everyone has the good fortune to live in a civilized country.
crystalkid · 56-60, T
Schools vary here. Or they did when I was a student. Mine had the only dress code in town.

What??????? Really?????
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
Yeah! I'm home now though, but it was fun. Got chilly through the day, so a teacher lent me a blanket. Overall pretty chill. 👍

@NorthernRoses: that's awesome!
princessinez · 22-25, F
Don't make me jealous 😂
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
The best part is I won't even have to change clothing when I get home. I can just go straight to bed 👌
princessinez · 22-25, F
😭😭 I'm glad at least someone gets to be so free 😂
EJTOOO · 18-21, F
we have a uniform, code even includes underwear
Marceline · F
rofl... awesome. we got school uniforms here
Allelse · 36-40, M
I always liked wearing a school uniform, it meant I never had to think about what to wear, I'd just bung on the uniform and be out the door.
NorthernRoses · 22-25, F
Yeah, school uniforms are good like that. Then again, this country doesn't have that big class differences and/or fashion pressure, so it's like w/e
Allelse · 36-40, M
It was also cool having a peice of clothing like my junior high school jumper which went through all the hell I did. I still remeber looking down and finding it covered in blood after that year 10 boy hit me when I was t looking.
Ross19 · 31-35, M
Sounds so chill. I had a strict school uniform. Even told us what colour socks to wear!
Sharon · F
They still do in some UK schools. The rules are usually stricter for boys too. So much for equality.
Ross19 · 31-35, M
@Sharon: Yes I suppose it's a good thing and I'm sure it helps with bullying if all are dressed the same
Sharon · F
@Ross19: It doesn't help with bullying. Children whose parents can't afford the, usually overpriced, uniforms are bullied by the teachers by being put in isolation or excluded from the school.

How does it help by making the rules stricter for boys too? Discrimination just builds resentment and sets a very bad example.

We can't wear anything in school .
I hope you wouldn't get much punishment for not wearing unifrom in school... Lol 😜😂
SW-User
Why ???
In pajamas??
And what is bath robe??
There is no any dress code for school ???
SW-User
There's no dress code here, or at least there wasn't when I was in school.
SW-User
