Was being called a "feminist asshole" the best thing that has happened to me tonight?

It's kinda sad whenever people attach so much value to a label. It's like being a feminist, or conservative, or atheist, or whatever is an ennobling factor by itself. It's just so self-righteous. Like it's something you can wear to cover up all your failures and short-comings as a person.

I don't view feminist as any kind of insult, but it sure as shit isn't something to be proud of. It's just a category you placed yourself into. You did nothing to earn it. It doesn't offset your asshole tendencies, and doesn't mean you're smarter or better or whatnot than anyone else.

Deriving happiness from that is very petty, in my opinion. You make no effort at all to consider why someone would call you asshole and just pat yourself on the back for being a feminist. It's juvenile
