I think everything matters to one extent or the other. The mind and body are in a continual state of change, and perhaps we are only meant to enjoy things for a time. Happiness, sadness, anger...our time... are all fleeting. There is no constant.

Nothing lasts, I baked cheese scones on Saturday... today, half of them were eaten, the rest of were stale and wasted. The pleasure was in the creation.🙂

So to your thinking then is there meaning in the pleasure or does pleasure simply supersede any concept of meaning?

Just because it doesn't last forever doesn't mean it can't have a lasting effect on us. I guess that's why it matters
