Am I being brave, or just stupid?

I originally wrote this as a long story but I'm gonna try to keep it short.

My family bloodline is tough. Really, really tough. But I've been sheltered and never been in any fights. I'm tired of being intimidated by troublemakers and I plan to confront the next one I see. Next time someone acts like a public bar is their territory or anything like that, I plan to look them in the eye and say something. I'm scared to do it but I know it will help me be braver in the future.

I realize that this may cause someone to try to physically harm me but that's probably gonna happen anyway and I would rather be brave about it than try to hide from it.

Am I being brave, or am I being stupid? I don't want to stop visiting places just because a random asshole wants to intimidate me!

Please constructively criticize any problems you see here. I want to hear it. Thank you.

I admire your brave aspirations but may I suggest you pick and choose your battles?

Bravery is a big deal and a lot of effort and you don't want to waste that kind of energy on just any *sshole.

You're better off working on not being intimidated than you are standing up to someone. If you weren't intimidated in the first place you wouldn't feel the need to "stand up".

You can't fix the world but you can fix you.
Y'know what I'm saying?
