Am I being brave, or just stupid?

I originally wrote this as a long story but I'm gonna try to keep it short.

My family bloodline is tough. Really, really tough. But I've been sheltered and never been in any fights. I'm tired of being intimidated by troublemakers and I plan to confront the next one I see. Next time someone acts like a public bar is their territory or anything like that, I plan to look them in the eye and say something. I'm scared to do it but I know it will help me be braver in the future.

I realize that this may cause someone to try to physically harm me but that's probably gonna happen anyway and I would rather be brave about it than try to hide from it.

Am I being brave, or am I being stupid? I don't want to stop visiting places just because a random asshole wants to intimidate me!

Please constructively criticize any problems you see here. I want to hear it. Thank you.

I wouldn't advise such an action. 99% of the time, it's not worth the consequences to bother with such jerks. If you want to encourage more braveness in yourself, I recommend becoming a volunteer EMT or similar position. It takes a little training and education, but it's a valuable public service, and will likely require you to confront some difficult situations. Such as people who are in dire medical emergencies, responses to wounded people near or in crime scenes, erratic or panicking patients who need help, but are uncooperative or even violent due to their injuries. It's not a job for the faint of heart.
