Would their secret be safe with you?

SO my 13 year old niece came out to me as bi-sexual recently. Of course her secret is safe with me and I have not had the desire to tell anyone, but I do wonder what made her tell me. She told me that she was playing at first , but this was because she didn't know if she could trust me or not, but she then brought it back up and said that she is in fact bi-sexual which I kind of figured anyway for a long time. I am comfortable posting here because nobody knows I'm on this site that I actually know.

What would you have done in this situation if the shoe was on your foot? Has it happened to you?

@butterfly1013 so what does it mean to be bisexual and to tell a family member when you are only 13 compared to when you are an adult?

@justanothername There really isn't a difference, You are who you are regardless of age. Other than at her age she doesn't need to be testing the waters so to speak in the physical aspect. The only way I would tell a family member on her behalf is if she was putting herself in harms way then it would be my job to tell her mom at least. When you are adult, you are free to do what you want to do, even that doesn't change much. Actually her mom has come pretty close to finding out in a few ways, but luckily my sister can be a little ditzy sometimes. She has shirts representing bi-sexual colors and of course my sister didn't know that that's what they were.

@justanothername Well, she's not allowed to hang out with boys like that. I mean she has friend guys at school, but that's only at school. As far as sleep overs and stuff and just doing stuff with friends, they're girls.

@justanothername A lot of people in general in that school friends or not are gay or bi-sexual... in fact my nephew's ex girlfriend ended up being bi-sexual. But yes, some of my niece's friends both boys and girls are at least bi-sexual. That's what she told me.
