You know it really sucks that I now have money to go on trips, a manager who never denied my PTO requests, and I have NO ONE to go on a trip with?

Really sucks.
Yes, I know I can go anywhere alone but ive done plenty alone and I want to experience things with other people

I know how you feel, I travelled all over the world, always by myself, and I did meet a lot of people on the way but I always wished I had a travel companion. now I have my girlfriend which I would like to travel with but she's in another country and a friend of mine who wants to go to India with me but India is one of the worst places in the world for covid right now. there's a website called "travel-buddies" which could help, also volunteering is a good way to meet people in general, but also, I don't know how much travelling you did outside of the U.S. but if you go to some exotic locations and use a "lonely planet" travel guide you will meet tons of people and maybe even make long term friends. lonely planet is cool because it will direct you to hostels where friendly backpackers go, if you stay in a hilton-type hotel you will never meet anyone, backpacker hostels are the way to go.

@reflectingmonkey yea I really want to meet people organically though. I'm not trying to have a first outing with someone somewhere out of country.. thanks though

Knew this all too well even when I had lot's of PTO and a bit of money. 😔

Most of my PTO time was at home. Between 18 and 24 days increasing over 10 years.

@DeWayfarer yea, I just came back from Staycation. Super boring. I have places I'd like to go but most people don't care to hear about your travels, so It's like I have no one to share or build anything with.
