Are feet just long hands with short fingers

Ha! That's a nice way of putting it. But... not quite. Feet lack the opposable big toe. But they sure make up for that lack simply by being so fantastic!

Our genetic ancestors actually had feet closely resembling hands. But since we got all lazy and stopped climbing on trees our feet got more streamlined.
And evolution is still going, because since we don't really need all our toes they might all fuse together to one big ass toe. That's why our little toes are so minuscule.

@GermanAf: Yes I know. I once read somewhere that the pinky toe will be the first to go. That would be very sad indeed. 😢 It's mainly the toes that make feet so fantastic in the first place!

@FeetAreFantastic: I'm fine with that change. All that my toes are doing are getting their nails ingrown .-.
