Is the world shutdown what some older people suggesting, showing Millennials just have no idea how to cope with life?

It's a consequence of their being the first generation largely led by the fruit of feminism the children of single parent families? This is some of what I've heard being said. Does history tell if the last Millenials, those born just a decade before the year 1000 A.D, were equally a 'hopeless' generation?
