I spoke out, faced consequences, but somehow, i know i did the right thing

I know how much mess my faculty creates. They purposely delay the research proposal defense of the students. Thus, a 2 year degree program takes 3 to 4 years to complete. Instead of complaining to the president of university, i wrote an email about the issue to the HOD directly and she called me in her office that how much "Offensive" my email was!
"You are calling out my department?" "Are you accusing us?" ""How dare you!" "You are just a student"
TBH, For the first, I was chill, even though she was yelling at me. It was because i knew i did the right thing. There is a bizzare hegemonic environment in my university. No student dare to complain despite paying the fees. They dont report the issue even though they know they are being affected. They listen to their insults even when they know that authority and administration is responsible for this shit. Education hegemones think that they can yell and pressurize anyone, but this time it was me.
I clearly told her that i stick to my email. I know the hardworking intelligent students who are unable to complete their degree because of your department. She threatened me that she can send my email to the authority and get me expelled, but i didnt give up and challenged her that i know whats going here. At last, she "gave me a warning" and let me go. The reason Im writing this is to let you know that just know the basic rules of your institution. Sometimes, we fear these people without knowing the rule. As in my case, the HOD clearly got the idea and i am not like her other students who nod without knowing the rules. I knew that my email cannot get me expelled at any cost. And she knew that if she takes me to the president, then i will let him know the negligence of this department. Thus, she had to let me go. So next time when you witness something wrong in your university, go through the "terms and conditions" and then challenge the authority without fear. Trust me, they cant do most of the things they say! Really!
Hava a nice day everyone!

Wow.. that's really bold and the right step to fight hegemony. Anything written and documented goes on record. Email is a great way to write with proof. Most people make the mistake of complaining orally which never gets recorded. And you would have observed they would have threatened or warned you orally, but never respond in writing. This is how telephony screwed the world. When asked they would say they never warned or reprimanded you.

Did they take action as per your complaint ? Hope you did not settle just because they let you go ?

@in10RjFox i asked her in my email not to delay our thesis. She said that "students are supposed to write proposal in 3rd semester and thesis in 4th. Now you are enrolled in third sem. Focus on your proposal. We wont delay if you are on time" I dont believe her but if she delayed our proposal defense, ill approach president, because he is a nice man

@Thezehra nice man on the outside need not be so when it comes to real issues.. but you should write to him if necessary attaching your earlier email..

I appreciate your boldness👍. Stick on to your rights and face the issue with HOD or even the President. Because the education system itself stupid as for as I'm. So now the department will have an eagle's eye on you and the same time they for the first time facing the complaint from a Student. They have prestigious issue now.

I have been there. Got bad grades in two subject's from same teacher. There will always be one in the faculty who would understands students matters and take right actions. Best of luck but watch out your grades. Lol

@Reflection2 i have a gold medal already. So this time, its ok to let go grades!

@Thezehra It does nothing in professional career. I never went for grades either. Knowledge matters
Thezehra · 26-30, F

That is impressive, bold and courageous at the same time. You obviously touched on a real problem, judging by her reaction!
Thezehra · 26-30, F
@Pfuzylogic i was shocked the way she talked to me, but i knew that i had to calm down and not to be weak infront of her , otherwise she would continue to suppress us. One thing that i really hated was that no student supported me despite that i was speaking for all of us! but anyway!

Don't worry about the support from other students. Be an individual!@Thezehra
Pfuzylogic · M
@Thezehra It shows that you are ready for leadership. Anytime you confront someone in a position of power about a legitimate issue; they will attack you like she did. You did the right thing.
