Is it worth it to try and help someone who does not do anything to help himself?

Sometimes we must give up on certain people, not because we don’t care, but because they don’t.

Only if you plan on taking care of him indefinitely with his needs increasing with the years.

Sometimes, those who need our help the most, seldom ask for it, or want it. 😔🤗

It's your choice but don't try to do more than needed

It depends on the person and the situation, like most things in life. And without the info you can’t be sure, so many variables.

You may be able to offer motivation but that is it.

Nope it's a complete waste of effort.

It doesn't hurt to try
After many years of trying with certain people, I’d have to say no. There’s no percentage in it, only heartache and frustration. Helping others is really only “help” if they’re actually trying to achieve something. Otherwise, you’re expending all the energy and care. It’s like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in it. 😒
