Does the thought of dying and having no awareness scare you?

dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
Not me... but my grandma said towards the end that she was afraid of dying. That was unnerving to hear.
Fernie · F
@dumpstermeow I hear you. I never had a Grandma but my friend of 43 years passed 4 years ago and geez...the questions and apologies and just stuff to share with her just have filled my head this whole time. Grief is like love with no place to go. I'm very sorry for your loss.
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@Fernie thank you very much for that, it was easter when we lost her, that year it was early april... but I still think of her always at this time.
Fernie · F
@dumpstermeow and you always will

Tomorrow I get the results of my biopsy...they might tell me I have cancer...tonight I am more afraid of the unknown than the dying if that will be the case. It's why I get angry when people call those who commit suicide cowards...I think they are courageous!
Fernie · F
@dumpstermeow Thank you...me too. It's just odd to be more afraid of what waits for me in the great beyond than death itself. I envy believers sometimes
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@Fernie my grandma was a believer but still had doubt. Life and death is crazy.
Fernie · F
@dumpstermeow That is why I think she was sensible...she wasn't assimilated...wise enough to have questions and doubts. Death is THE best kept secret there is
Yeah but everything scares me so🤷‍♀️

Idk, I wonder what lies beyond, if there even is a beyond.

Not really. Not to say I don't care. But I have made good decisions in life knowing I will be dead one day

Kinda, but no point in worrying about the inevitable I think.
I kind of feel like the kid sitting in his bedroom knowing he's gonna get a whuppin when dad gets home. I wan't to live forever. I don't want to disappear, but I ponder the inevitability of my demise from time to time.

No, I’ve never really feared death. I found it calming to think of, though I wasn’t depressed, I thought I’d death as... an intriguing thing...

Thoughts don't scare me. Nor do anticipations of death or dying.
Isn't living with no awareness also scary?
SW-User
@JessBalance of course
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
I’m too young to think about that

@ImRileyTheDog one is never too young

We will have awareness.
SW-User
@curiosi you don't know for sure
curiosi · 61-69, F
@SW-User I believe we will so there is nothing to fear. If I am wrong nothing we can do about it and I didn't waste my time being fearful.
No. Death is but a new beginning.

@SW-User live life to your fullest and you will no longer fear it
Fernie · F
@SW-User Living life to the fullest might make it harder to go
caesar7 · 61-69, M
No. I am curious about the other side....if it's nothing, so be it.
