Ever notice how humanity doesn't change?

1 Samuel 8:7 And the Yahweh told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected Me as their King.

What were the people asking for in rejecting Yahweh? A human government to take care of them. They did not trust Yahweh so they turned on Him and demanded a human government to look after their affairs. And so you see why the political left today is so anti-Jewish/ anti-Christian. They are rejecting the One True God, Yahweh. The fake gods like allah are great because they serve to replace Yahweh. Moloch is acceptable because it replaces Yahweh. Their hearts incline toward evil.

So very true!

Ecclesiastes 1:9

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

There's one part of this that is universally true: history is destined to be repeated.

People need to be led and oftentimes, they will choose a leader that is convenient.

Before Constantine, there were many many many different religions in the world. But Constantine and his heirs saw the opportunity to unite the world by promoting a god they themselves didn't worship.

The political alignment of the Roman Empire and the Papal State is ripe with irony is that it's a man-made construct pretending to be divine.

The one true god is our humanity. It's what unites us. But, we use gods as a way to divide.

It's been the one constant in human history.

It’s called human nature. It’s called nature. Being better than just being selfish requires knowing yourself or meditation to overcome selfishness. But some people, like a dog playing in the mud, don’t care about others, just themselves. It’s very discouraging.

I suppose that’s why Buddha encouraged people to Find truth with in themselves. Rather than depending on anyone else.

I love the wisdom of the poetic verses you’ve shared.

@Mindful Buddha was wrong on that point since finding truth within your self when your self is not truthful is like standing in a bucket and expecting to lift yourself by pulling on the handle.

I suppose it requires some guidance. But if you don’t look to yourself for honesty, you’ll never know the truth. Words themselves are meaningless. Many people don’t even understand them.... they only understand directions. Do this—don’t do this—@hippyjoe1955 also, understanding that yourself is not truthful =selfish is very important
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Mindful That is why you must look to Yahweh who said "I AM the TRUTH the WAY and the LIFE". We as humans can not begin to grasp the truth until we grasp the TRUTH.
I am a believer and a Catholic - but dont quote from the Bible - it makes you look like a complete boob. Read it if you want - but quoting it ------Naaaaaa
You don't need religion to have morals.
If you can't determine right from wrong, you lack empathy,
not religion.
