Did your parents prepare you for a life like THIS?

I guess we all want to shield our children from hardships but is that a disservice to them?

I honestly don't know maybe they tried to but I didn't listen? Could also be the fact that I never liked asking for help when I was younger from like 5 to 17 years old
There's also the fact my parents were both kids when they had me so they hadn't experienced a full life yet so they didn't really have a whole lot to teach me for the first part of my life
But thankfully they're teaching me now since I've gotten a bit more serious about my life and honestly? I think my Dad is one the best when it comes to handling and navigating life along with my mom
And I feel like I've taught myself things and learned things on my own that my parents never brought up
But I think they did a good job in raising a fairly good person who isn't a lil bitch that whines

I am the little bitch that whines? Is that what that meant? @TacoCat

My parents didn’t prepare me for jack shit. I had to figure it out myself.

I think they prepared me for many things actually although there are a lot of things I’m not prepared for too. I don’t think anyone will ever be 100% prepared for everything I think they tried and did their best but there are still a lot they left out.

My parents prepared me well by allowing me to make mistakes and helping me how to get out is them but allowing me to make decisions

Nah I would have felt normal if my parents ever let me decide for myself when I was younger

I think they did. Whatever they didn't teach, life picked up the slack.

My parents didnt shield me...they had hardships themselves!

They were far from perfect but the parents did a pretty good job of raising me and sis to be tough and resilient.
