What life skills did your parents impart to you that helped you achieve personal success?

If memory serves half the time during my growing up it was me doing the looking after.

As for lessons given............May have to get back to you on that one.

Well ... more than I'm teaching my own child apparently.

She just came home from the neighbor's with slime stuck in her hair. "On a dare". As I'm cursing under my breath, I ask her "Hey Dear, we've made slime before. Do you remember what's in it?" "Uh ... glue." "Yeah, glue. You put glue in your hair. Do you understand why I'm frustrated?" 🤦‍♀️

Honesty, fairness
They were very neglectful of my needs. So I learned that if I wanted to eat I had to get it myself. This taught me self reliance and not to depend on help from anyone.

My parents always told me to always be honest, determined, and to work hard. They always made me believe I could achieve anything I wanted in life.

If we’re going on personal success I’m gonna have no say none. I’m probably the least successful person I know
That after I leave the Grassy Knoll run and hide in a old auto shop.

Be respectful.
A good work ethic, and the awareness that no one owed me anything. The latter may seem obvious but I don’t think everyone fully accepts that.
