I very much fear that this is how I perceive time, throughout my life.

0.....3.....6.....12.....24.....48.....96

Yeah its a log scale, that's just how our brain works.

@ButterFly2023 Yeah, you understand exactly what I am trying to get at. Even if I live to 96, I am more than halfway through what I perceive to be my life.

Everything is like that. Apparently we can only perceive 10% differences. You see the same shit playing out when we buy shit. Saving 500 dollars on a house is not the same as saving 500 dollars on a fridge.

@ButterFly2023 And 10,000 immigrants coming into the country is not the same as 10,000 new students coming into one class.

I don't get it.
Are you talking about how life speeds up?
@33person Well they do try to tell you 😂 but you don't hear it.
It's one of those things you learn yourself.
Even us talking about it now we still don't understand it the way we will later in life

@MushroomFaerie I honestly got told a lot, when I was a kid, that I had SO long left that I don't have to worry. Dead wrong.
@33person We all get told things that mess us up later in life, I think it's unavoidable.
Dw, we are all in this fast and fateful ship together

That doesn’t make much sense.

@SW-User Look at it like a timeline. I am suggesting that every doubling of my age seems to feel like it takes the same amount of time.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
hmm the 0 breaks the pattern
33person · 26-30, M
@MartinTheFirst I have to put it somewhere.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@33person are you sure?
33person · 26-30, M
@MartinTheFirst I do, because the first three years of my life felt like an eternity. But you multiply 0 by anything and you get zero, so it's always going to pose a problem.
