Going to Colossalcon has helped me come out of my shell.

I am a huge introvert who usually can;t hold a conversation for a few minutes, but, after I started going to this convention, I feel like I've been coming out of my shell a bit. When I'm there, I feel comfortable. I'm surrounded by fellow geeks and I don;t feel that I'm being judged by everybody. I'm always enjoying myself and I've somehow managed to strike conversations with complete strangers (usually after taking pictures of cosplays). Everyone there is super chill. This is honestly one of the greatest feelings in the world for me and I can't wait to go again next year.

Did you make any friends for the meantime, until next year?

@Stardust519 That's what I was going to recommend. Next year, maybe you can get some numbers and set up some smaller events outside of that one. ^^

@Tatsumi I know there was a Markiplier cosplayer who was playing dance music on a speaker and I just randomly joined him. He said he'd love to have me dance with him again after a few songs. There were even a couple cosplayers who wanted to follow me on social media.

Maybe try attending some esport arenas with your friends

@marcusaurelius I'm hoping I can get a room at Kalahari with my friends again next year. They were friends of a coworker who was going and she offered to let me and my boyfriend room with them. Now I'm hoping to room with them again because they are awesom people and I'm glad to have met them.

That’s great! Common ground helps a lot.
