Inconsiderate Mother

I realize that as my mother is in her 60’s she is very inconsiderate.I say this because she doesn’t realize how jammed packed she has the house.When she dies my father and I would be left alone taking care of all of the crap she hoarded in the house.At times I question if I should help her or not even when I mentioned to her that there is too much stuff in various rooms that she just leaves stacked up.I guess I can call one of those moving Haul trucks to store all the shit away to Goodwill.

that's how it goes and she's not inconsiderate.

think about it for a moment.

i suffer that, hell everyone i know gets that problem as time passes.

people pile on and become prisoner of their past.

what i do is organize and then categorize.

if there's too much of a fuss, yeh charity, sell and what has to be done.

(proceeds go into a saving account and such.)

but never rid her life of what's truly important, if you can separate that from the nicknack hell.
(collateral wise that is.)

I get what you’re saying.

Her “habit” sounds bad for everyone.

Maybe try to come up with ideas to begin clearing stuff.

My parents had a table. They would put stuff on the table and if nobody grabbed it for a month, we donated it.

@SW-User I think the only time the idea of clearing stuff would actually take place is when she is ready.Usually she gives stuff away but then she end up bringing more stuff in which defeats the purpose of clearing stuff up.

Stress the importance of keeping things managable. If she never understands or can cope... it is what it is. But don’t stop trying.

@TJNewton I’m not being selfish wth....my mother has her house full of stuff.Maybe if you watch the show hoarders you’ll get a understanding.We all have to die one day but if she dies first we are left with the mountain of stuff she left behind.
