Nobody walks in LA ...

Walked down Hollywood BLVD in the early hours. The city, so far as I can tell, really hasn't changed. Aside from being uncharacteristically rainy (when I lived here there was mostly a drought), it is a little less skeezy, perhaps more gentrified (read: more Starbucks offering more free Wi-Fi).

But there are still the homeless people in the doorways, the Mexicans waiting for public transit to take them to their menial jobs, the crazies carrying on both sides of one-sided conversations. The L Ron Hubbard museum seems to relocated, or perhaps Scientology has expanded its insidious grip.

A film crew has blocked off the street in front of Mann's Chinese Theatre. A reboot pilot of the Rookie? We haven't read the script, but we've heard it's good.
