depends on intent. Some people just like to get fucked up, some people are running from something, some people are stuck in the addiction feedback loop, some people are self-medicating, and some people are doing it to intentionally hurt themselves.

Depends. If you are drinking excessively or to escape problems yes. If you are doing drugs that hurt more than they help then absolutely. There is a fine line that far too many seem to cross.

Too broad a question. Some drugs help you recover from illness and others cause illness. Too much alcohol is not healthy but I serve wine for communion.
