Will gun violence ever decrease in the United States?

Not at all. Even if it was illegal to own guns, there are so many out there on the streets for people to buy.

300 million guns out there.
Can never get them back.
Can’t put the tooth paste back in the tube.

But while all those guns are out there...

I want my mother to have one,

I want my daughter to have one,

I want my wife to have one,

And hell,

I’LL HAVE ONE TOO!!

Until there's a deterrent, no. The "celebrity" involved with the violence is too big of a draw for those with no moral compass.

It will decrease as the population gets reduced/eliminated by climate change

guns are the heart and core of America. that is never going to be weaned away.

We'll have peace one day but it'll be a new world by then.

One can only hope....but I fear it’s not happening anytime soon.
