Assault weapons...not a problem?

No, people are. Mental illness is. Bullying is....
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@fun4us2b somebody posted it after the last school shooting, it might work
fun4us2b · M
@lorne13 yes gun companies, insurers and gun owners would have skin in the game. Nice idea, doubt we'll see it..
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@fun4us2b agreed, gun owners would probably claim the constitution says they dont need insurance

I think the problem is large groups of people, yep, definitely large groups of people. Everyone should just stay home.🙃

While I don’t see a reason why anybody would want to buy an AR-15, a weapon mainly used in wars, here’s my issue.... we are talking about a shoot to kill weapon, being used by young men, under the age of 25, whose main goal is to murder innocent people and children. They are selling to those with severe mental health issues. And those same people are not monitored by professionals and/or they stopped treatment. They have absolutely no training on how to use them. And have failed background checks including red flags. The list goes on.

I do agree there is a pattern where these types of weapons are concerned. And maybe removing those might make some difference. But I think we also need to look at each person’s background.

Who decides what an "assault weapon" is?
Def of Assault: make a physical attack on
Def of Weapon: a thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage

Therefore, according to your "assault weapon ban", the marshmallow shooter my son made in Cub Scouts is in fact an assault weapon when he hit me with a marshmallow. Could someone please call the SWAT team for me?
@lilcountrygrl it is actually a semi technical term, for a weapon, a long one like a rifle style, that is semi-automatic or fully automatic, and can hold a lot of bullets in its magazine.
It is not for hunting, it is a military style weapon. Its purpose is to shoot other people. I have one
Fernie · F
@SatyrService it kills multiple people in a very short time
@Fernie I think too many people have them, for reasons that are wrong, or foolish. They are not going to be able to defend their homes when the beating bad mean Old Government comes after them they can do that from 50,000 feet
SW-User
They didn't fire themselves
Fernie · F
@SW-User Something has to be done ...assault rifles kill multiple people in seconds...no one has a chance to get away from bullets spraying...I too wish we could make it stop. Other countries have managed to do that. Weapons today are far more deadly than they were when the 2nd amendment was written[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9l3SV9Rvvk]
SW-User
@Fernie Yep. This is scary shit.
Fernie · F
@SW-User It's truly terrifying SQ!
Primnproper · 56-60, F
They're far to accessible in your country with the right ID, here there are stringent checks made over a few months and you have to provide references from the land owners whose property you will be shooting on or you have to be with a registered gun club membership and they go into your medical records and history to..
I am not making light of this! But as I looked at the list I had to think
buy American!
Too soon to joke I know, but it is kind of ironic considering that Chinese made SKS are everywhere.
SW-User
@SatyrService That was fucking hiarious!!
@SW-User I do kind of feel guilty for making a joke about it but it just jumped into my head!
Fernie · F
@SW-User was that sarcasm?
Carver · 31-35, F
People are the real problem but I can agree that assault weapons shouldn't be made available to people in the first place. An AR-15 isn't used to hunt wildlife.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Carver so who do you think should have them
Carver · 31-35, F
@MarineBob Police, national guard, military... Not the public, that's for sure.
FormerPadresfan · 26-30, M
Instead it should be MANDATORY for everyone to have an AR 15... High chance of any bastard getting stopped quick XD!!!
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@FormerPadresfan thats like finding a serious illness in your area and deciding to inject everyone with it
Fernie · F
@FormerPadresfan that is profoundly stupid ...you actually LOOK like you'd open up on innocent people as well
SW-User
Nah not at all, there's no pattern there of whack-jobs using a certain weapon...
cycleman · 61-69, M
selling the need to have these weapons for your protection in the best, safest, place in the whole wide world .... what a sad joke.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
How many were used by its lawful owner
