How could anybody not want gun control?

Gun control is what it says “GUN CONTROL”! That doesn’t mean the removal of ALL guns. It just means back ground checks and mental health assessments, so that the wrong person isn’t going around carrying a firearm. What’s wrong with that?

I know that there are responsible gun owners. Responsible gun owners that collect guns, or have multiple gun, but keep them closed up. And only use as needed. You’re not going to catch them, buying a gun, that is made to shoot and kill innocent people. You’re just not.

I am not anti gun. I support responsible gun owners. I also support gun control. It seems many are more scared about losing their guns than scared about losing the lives of loved ones.

Well all I say is look at the U.K I can’t remember the last time we had a school shooting and we do very well without guns.

@Cford771 I think it was Dunblane in 1996 - so one in 22 years compared to 18 in the US so far this year ☹️

Spot on I’m not saying the U.K. is perfect because it really isn’t we have our own problems our politicians need to sort out but the poor kids that are caught up in this mothers and fathers brothers and sisters? I have a big heart and I really do feel for America I loved visiting Florida yes I was a tourist but I loved The people to be honest I was scared of the guns but who isn’t? @Dlrannie

@Cford771 Indeed we are not perfect in the UK but it's much safer living here than in the US

There are all sorts of incredibly complicated variables that go into creating a spree shooter.

One of the simplest, most obvious, and cleanest is access to firearms. The US has more regulations about photocopying books than it does guns.

@CountScrofula Its ironic thet the shooter was allowed to buy a gun at 18 but not buy beer until 21 - total madness
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@Dlrannie I cant believe that either. It’s crazy.

@NaturalBeautyQueen Absolutely bonkers ☹️

Must of rattled his cage a little lol.

@Cford771 exactly. Gunnowners run in my family. They are very responsible. And I feel safe with them. An incident happened to me, where a man tried to take my baby from me. And my first thought was “if I had a gun....” So I’m not anti gun, like I said. And I sure as hell don’t want ALL guns taken away. Obviously.

I also lost loved ones, because of a crazy person. How did they get a gun? Is what I don’t understand.

Guns aren’t and shouldn’t be for everybody. And that is what gun control is for.
TRell · 22-25, M
I like that you said to do background checks instead of taking them away. People are still going to get them either way. Guns being illegal won't stop any more people than drugs being illegal does
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@TRell it’s not going to stop people from buying them illegally. But I bet it could lower the number of mass shootings. Like it other countries.
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
I’m going to go one step further... we don’t need guns that spray 100 bullets in 30 seconds for hunting and target practice

@RodneyTrotter not if the kid finds out that by keeping that toy, can hurt other people. My daughter who is 7, would be sad, if she had to give up her favorite toy. But would give it up in a heartbeat, if she knew it would help somebody. Children are more innocent than adults. I get what you’re saying though.

National reciprocity. It's time.

I agree with you 100%
