Then end up divorced, spouse claims house, which is cool since you may want a roof over your kids' heads...

Then she meets another guy and he moves into the house which YOU have worked so hard for, but are not allowed to live in anymore.

While that is horrible for him and hard on all I want to point out something. All those years I'm sure she worked hard too. Who takes care of the kids, runs your errands, takes the kids to all their activities, prolly even having a job of her own and still comes home and cooks supper for everyone while your resting from your long day at work. And then she gets the kids ready for bed, cleans what needs to be cleaned and then she can sleep. A lot of women work just as hard so maybe they deserve that house too but still its sad. Divorce is not easy.

@littlepinklotus Yeah, but the question is not about whether she deserves the house or not... that is all good... but it is about the OTHER GUY moving in and not having to have had to spend a cent or shed one drop of sweat or blood to be able to buy that house in the first place.

Ladies, you marry someone, you believe you are making your life with them, you give up your career to take care of him and your children you have together, you put up with everything his family think they can throw at you because you [b]owe[/b] them. And you can't leave because there's a real chance you'll be left destitute, with no hope of a decent job because you've been out if the market for so many years

It's never black and white. I think if you gift your kids it should remain as that and you should let them live their lives

I got one better than that. My husband's first wife never worked a day in her life for over 45yrs. As my wonderful man worked his butt off in upper management his lazy, fat, nasty wife stored up his money. Lots of money disappeared. He had enough of abuse on many levels. He divorce her, of course..and she walked away with ..omg... I felt sick for him. But he just wanted rid of her.
