What would change our lives & perspectives this generation?

I'd say a little bit of Eastern philosophy.... the new generation needs to discover a meaning, and purpose for life, and themselves...

A developed heart compliments a developed mind...
I understand what you mean... yes, probably... thank you for the good question... made me think for a change... lol

Thank you for thinking 😁
Lol... any time... 😊
To unleash innovation and ingenuity once again

I am sure the kids of today can once again ... innovate paths unthought of ... improving living for all.

If we could just unleash them
Very good questions.

To encourage innovation, it best comes from youth ... with the following ..

Most all things that encourage individualism and folks to experiment would be a huge step.

Reducing the focus on fair, common good, equity and well-ordered ... would also help.

As to why innovation has slowed? ... the slowing coincides with standardization ... zoning, building standards, standard practices, SEC, EPA, OSHA ... the alphabet string is endless.

The purpose of standards is to obstruct innovation ... allowing only approved innovators to proceed

I wouldn't say obstruct, I would more likely say regulate/manipulate, but I definitely agree with a lot of that.

People need to be allowed to be individuals, capable of defying social norms & conditions should they go against their own, yet, I think there should also be somewhat of an openness to new ideas, even ones different or contrary to our own, so that we can change & improve our own ways when we know there to be better alternatives.

Some guidelines can be useful, but I agree that, while the pervasiveness of regulation may protect somewhat, it also limits so much of human ability & ingenuity.
Well summarized

.. those limits can be limiting
