Kids should always be the priority. Sorry you had to go through that. When people split up, they should not bring drama home. They should focus solely on their kids until the kids reaches 18. People will slam me for saying that, but anytime a parent brings in girlfriends or boyfriends, they are relegating their kids to a lesser role.

@bigjohndl yeah I agree! But it’s okay it wasn’t too bad with my brothers and I’m away from it now living my own life! :)

Wow, that must have been hard. Sorry to see you were put through that. My parents divorced when I was 8, but I just stayed between the two of them and she died when I was 15. Nothing like what you went through though.

After your mother left, your dad was probably over-compensating for feelings of undesirability. But still, the kids should have been his priority.

@StevetheSleeve yeah we should have been the main concern but we definitely weren’t. But I guess it taught my brothers and I about responsibility and we took care of each other. Now that I’m away from my dad it’s a lot better
