Wonder why you haven't responded to my messages?
Birgit12 · 56-60, F
Hi @Strictgram didn’t I respond to you
Sorry
Kylie · 26-30, F
I think strict equals love
Zsuzsanna1 · 41-45, F
@Kylie I agree completely, Kylie.
KnottyBuoy · 70-79, M
@Kylie I think it can, but not automatically. The whole thing about being pro-spanking, and then going into great detail about how strict you are, sort of raises the question of why the child in that case keeps needing to be spanked.
karenof4 · 36-40, F
i think all kids would

@Barrelracer1 Thanks for your kind words.
Birgit12 · 56-60, F
I clearly can agree
It is most important that the kids have a loving and caring discipline

My kids love their step-mom...and she is rather more strict that I am... but she cares for them sooo well... that they just love her!
That was also my definition of being a father. I was strict with my son, too, but only because I loved him and really cared for him.

I wish more parents would be like you. Loving, caring, guiding, with a cane ready for when punishment is needed.
helen69 · 51-55, F
Best wishes to Czech from Berlin! Agree with your opinions very much. You use rakoskou? Helen
helen69 · 51-55, F
Have a nice Christmas in Czech, Zsuzsanna!
Zsuzsanna1 · 41-45, F
@helen69 And you in Berlin, Helen!
helen69 · 51-55, F
Thank you. And Keep up letting the cane get regular contact to the bottoms of your children and your own!! :-)

To me what you described above is just what a loving parent does. A strict parent is one that doesn't allow rules to be bent in the slightest. An overly strict parent is one that makes rules that serves no purpose that to cause the child to fail at keeping them.
Pop0159 · 61-69, M
My kids and their friends said this often when they were growing up ... now they all so thankful we were ....
Pop0159 · 61-69, M
@Resided, how do you know what kind of example they are setting as parent from the few words in her post ? ?
TheSuburbanErrorist · 56-60, M
You have to be these days, one day they'll thank you for it! :)

@Strictgram Thanks
CFNMike · M
I totally agree with you. There is lots of nonsense these days about letting children find their own boundaries but life is not like that. It's poor parenting not to have rules and consequences for them
djjohnson · 41-45, M
Agreed. I might also add that you don't allow excuses to get in the way of what should be done.
Zsuzsanna1 · 41-45, F
@djjohnson That is what goes with a strict and consequent upbringing.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@Zsuzsanna1 A punishment earned must be given.
Zsuzsanna1 · 41-45, F
@StrictSouthernHOH Which it always is in my house.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
I think it means setting clear and firm boundaries to keep them safe and behaving well and disciplining them for breaking those boundaries.
updown2020 · 61-69, M
Well yes but teaching them right from wrong and the wrong actions have consequences and they must be responsible for there actions
i was strict with my kids but spanking was always the last resort and if they did get one it was hard so they never did it again

Well said. All things have to be taken in context of course... but yes, do the right thing for their future development.
lostluggage · 56-60, F
That's what it's about right across the animal kingdom. Shame some humans don't know this.
as it should be well done
Zsuzsanna1 · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup Thanks
chubbysteve99 · 51-55, M

Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
