Was loving what you did for a living more important than loving a person at one point in your life?

At a young age I recall being very preoccupied with the notion of being a careerist and wanting to be extremely passionate about whatever I did to earn a living...even moreso than I was about being a wife or someone's mother. Have you ever experienced such feeling?

No, I never saw the jobs that I worked as a career that offered me much progression... even now, the cleaning jobs that the state tried to make me apply for don't really offer me much by the way of career progression.
