I am supposed to train a new employee at work night. My dilemma...

I asked for last Friday and Saturday off in order to move, but the time was not approved. I still have tons of work to do, and was planning on calling off tonight until I found out I needed to train. So...should I simply call off anyway and not worry about it, or should I be a good girl and go to work tonight?

Ugh id be torn hun. I know its not your fault but I think I'd feel bad lol. Ugh but id want to move.
Im not best person to ask lmao 💀

@Gangstress I know! It sucks. I mean, I know they could schedule him for another day, but, it would delay his training.

@MeowsoliniReturns I think you're supervisor is being a bit awkward about it x either way please do what's best for you x

@Gangstress Thank you! 🤗

What kind of work is it?

If it’s something necessary and important, I’d be a good girl. (Nursing, other medical occupations.)

If it’s doing TPS reports and doing tracking systems - blow it off. You’re freaking moving. Unless you move often, they need to help you out here.

@SmartKat That last part had me laughing! I work in juvenile corrections. I am going to be a good girl and go in tonight. However, tomorrow night I am calling off!

I would probably go in and do the training. You’re helping a new person learn a challenging job. But I agree it’s pretty rough that you couldn’t get time off to move.
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Harmonium1923 Yeah, I was really pissed off about it, and worked anyway, even though we had one kid in the facility and I watched Netflix all night. Ugh! I hate moral dilemmas!

Do which one will bring you the least amount of stress
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@JustEd OK. I am calling off then! I have to be completely moved out of my apartment and have no idea how to do so if I am always working nights and sleeping during the day.
JustEd · 41-45, M
@MeowsoliniReturns priorities. They’re hard sometimes but you’ve got to take care of yourself
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@JustEd That's true!

Call off. You’ll catch up on training
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Quetzalcoatlus Well, the supervisor that called me told me that he only has tonight to train. However, that's not really my problem, is it? lol
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
@MeowsoliniReturns The training could probably be some over email or zoom
QueenPeach · 26-30, F
Be a bad girl and call it off
Hmmm......be bad 😈
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@MrBlueGuy Yeah. Fuck em. I mean, I did find coverage for the days I did need off and they couldn't help me out then so...
@MeowsoliniReturns Right? With so many jobs when you ask for anything it can't be approved but damn they have no qualms about asking you to go above and beyond.
