Ever had a supervisor/manager keep working and sending emails when they are off?

Like why are you working?. You have several days off. This job must be their whole life

I only send messages if it’s important information that the shift needs to know. Otherwise I stay away from my phone during my days off. Half the time I’ve forgotten where I put it

Yes, mine sends us emails to our home email when we are off too and expects us to read them.
The one we got yesterday was the worst, it was that about 100 of us, our whole department is being made redundant at the end of October.

@iamnikki Finding work at the moment due to high unemployment is hard, but i'm thinking of fruit picking. It's hard work but i'm happy to give it a try.

Back when I worked the corporate and government job(s)... I would send an "OUT OF OFFICE" e-mail. After the dates it always said...

Opps I am that person. I can't rest if something that I'm responsible for needs attention. I stay in contact.
What if someone is new or I forgot to order something and Im afraid no one will notice untill they run out?
Now I'm glad that I work alone on the road and NOT supervising anyone. It cut down on my urges to do that.

guilty! i own and operate a business, and i can't stop working even on my day off - my employees make sure they tell me to 'go back on vacation!' lol

@tenente I think it's different you own it. We have other managers we can go-to, not sure why mine is working on vacation
