Do you always get the short end of the stick?

I came to work at 2pm. A manager (not my usual) asked me if I could leave and come back to work overnight. THe answer was no

I told her: y'all always give me the short end of the stick. Her: " I knowww' 馃檮

Hours later she texts me to work the next day until midnight
NO
I'm already working alternate shifts because of this virus

Why am I even at work of I'm "non essential personel" 馃拋

Its like "if you give an inch they'll take a mile", most managers are like that.

@Iwontsayitdidnthurt exactly. Kinda rude to ask once someone is already here, and ready to work.

At my employer that is not allowed. No two shifts can be done without an 11 hour gap between and a full day's notice must be given for any change of working hours.

@tallpowerhouseblonde I'm just glad I don't have to leave my house for the next 4 days. Got lots of phone calls to make for work .plan to knock them out in 2 hours and move on with my day

It sounds as if they were hoping to cross your boundaries. It also sounds like you are not going to allow them to do that.
I always got the long end of the stick.
But it hurt non the less.
