Does it annoy you when someone at your job (who is not your boss) tells you what you "need" to do?

Something about the word NEED just triggers a negative attitude. 🤨 [I know what my job is, thank you.]

That annoyed me a lot. I finally told them that I only needed one boss. Maybe someone else would appreciate their advice.

@bijouxbroussard It worked! 😁

Yes. I just bite my tongue and don't do it lol

Oh I know that feeling. One co worker used to do that to me and I'd still not do it so she would go and tell her boss as if he were the dean of a college 😂.

@Coralmist The best part after that would be he'd call me and give a sound lecture. I'll be standing there looking at my watch and he'd ask me if I was still in the room with him 😂
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Beatbox34 Wow.🤣 Can't believe she went to 'relay ' it to him... 🤦‍♀️

@Coralmist I used to think that who would actually do that. Ironically the very same person told me that I didn't have "office etiquettes" when I had just joined because I was way too brutal with everyone there.

oh yes it's super competitive at my work, tons of that nonsense and people pretending they are your boss

Yes. I don’t allow anyone to boss me around

I have to deal with the safety coordinator every day. I’ve had to go over her head many times and she was put in her place. Now she’s just looking for any reason. I’m about ready to file a formal complaint
4thdimensiondream · 61-69, M
Yes I hate that. It’s one of the few things I hate at work. Dude focus on your job not mine!

Well, here is what you need to do...

1. Take a deep breath and count to 3.5.
2. Consider the advice before letting your pride get in the way.
3. Avoid complaining to random people on the Internet.
4. Consider the best approach that includes what you have been told to do.
5. Move on.

If someone is trying to tell you what to do then let them know. That you already know what to do. 🙂
@Zonuss I do, and then they label me as angry. I guess I could try to convey it without the attitude. 🤨
