Is your job fulfilling?

Or is a job even supposed to be fulfilling?

Mine is draining me, emotionally anyway.
No job is fufilling bc i dont like working. All work is bad. Understand?

@DarlingSelah I like my job and I still wouldn't do this shit for free lol

"Fulfilling" would be a bit of a stretch. It's nice and low-stress, and the pay is good, which is what I need right now. But I don't feel a deep sense of fulfillment from it. I don't feel like I'm making a profound difference.

Is a job supposed to be fulfilling? I don't know. I think some jobs are meant to be fulfilling. Those jobs in which we work directly with people should be fulfilling, but all too often they aren't because we have rules that we have to follow, or we have to deal with people who are entitled, or who are just mean and nasty.

I'm sorry to hear that your job is draining you. I hope that it gets better, or that you find something better. Sometimes it's not the job itself that is draining. Dealing with a difficult boss, or difficult coworkers, can be draining too.

@TeresaRudolph71 thank you.. The job itself is easy now that i know how to do it correctly. But it's very mundane.
I hate the environment, sitting in the middle of two people, both at an arms-length away.
Constant noise, even on break. Etc

@iamnikki You're welcome. I'm glad that you've been able to learn the job and that it has gotten easier. But I also know that monotony can become tiresome.

Ah, so it's a stressful environment. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that at least you're able to get some peace and quiet when you get off work for the day.
My job is dead end as they come. There is no purpose other than the paycheck.
@iamnikki I have changed jobs and the next one is just as bad as the previous one. I adapted for many years but once one finds out they are in the wrong carree the they know it is time to change. For me it is time to change what I do. And learn to make a living at doing it. I am getting there.

@GoldButterfly yea so have i. I make more but my job is still crappy
@iamnikki Only thing one and do is adapt and find purpose or move on. Right now I am trapped and have to have an income. So I adapt but it is killing me a little more each day. Right now I am learning to trade stocks to see if that could be a source of income. It is trickier than it looks to make money in the stock market.

No. 😔 They screwed me over.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@XReaganX what do you do
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Mindless repetitive office work with no privacy or freedom is absolutely soul-crushing. :( My job is pretty solid but it took me a while to get there.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula yep. That's exactly what i have
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@iamnikki I've had jobs like that and it's supremely awful.
