Like it or not, most people have to work. What do you dislike the most about working?

For me, it’s micromanagers - bosses (and people who just think they’re bosses) who keep track of you as if you were 6 years old. Just give me the assignment and don’t bug me too often!

What’s your pet peeve about working? The commute? Stupid rules? Skimpy benefits?
Rambler · M
For me, it was the endless delays and frustrations of an urban commute. Being retired is a daily joy in that I’m not getting on that damn bus anymore.
Love4All · 56-60, F
Micromanager - watches every single word everyone says
Goes into my email, but thinks I haven’t found out
She tries to back off but I think she has a compulsive disorder (?)
Commute

The hours, the long days, the drama, and no praises for a job well done.
Synyster · 51-55, M
That sucks, forget the glory and ask for more money. lol
I'm off today, if the feds don't work, I don't work. 🤣

@sspec lol sweety
@juiceyangel333 Easiest being marrying a King!

Hope you are feeling well.
juiceyangel333 · 31-35, F
@sspec I like the idea of being married to a king. Yeah I'm getting better
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Micromanaging for sure.

When leadership regurgitates the latest buzz words or implements a 'new strategy' they just read about in the most recent managerial book but don't actually understand what they are saying or the concept.
Meaningless business jargon makes someone look like a complete moron to me.

When people are managed as processes and treated like emotionless robots.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@Starcrossed Watch out for Landmark education.
chrisCA · M
Corporate BS, and micromanagers.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@chrisCA Way too much of both. Like the zombies on Walking Dead, it's everywhere and not going away.
chrisCA · M
@SheikYerbouti I also hate desk jockeys who dictate production processes who have never done the job themselves.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@chrisCA Same here. Have had to contend with some.

The fact that it takes up so much of your time
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
I hate meetings. So, my career in management will go nowhere. Also, everything has to go through a committee or several people before a decision can be made.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@Love4All No joke. There's a "meeting " to discuss the bigger meeting. They always start late, everyone has to stop in the break room. ..talk to others on their way.
Love4All · 56-60, F
@SheikYerbouti there’s a meeting to discuss the plan, then the next week to follow up on the progress, but people are busy and gets rescheduled to the following week, then the follow up meeting to discuss the challenges, we never get to the meeting where things get done.
I told my boss I could not go to meetings I just needed to get my work done.
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@Love4All I managed to get out of one because it had nothing to do with me, and it was an hour that I could be doing work. But, yeah, it gets ridiculous.
I dislike when management changes abruptly in between and all the bulky projects have to suffer the pricks of an absolutely useless boss.
juiceyangel333 · 31-35, F
@sspec 😘😘
@juiceyangel333 🙂 🤗
abe182 · 46-50, M
The Bull shit because I didn't volunteer to work on the weekends I must not be in need of a raise.
Travelbug · 56-60, F
Often not being able to have a break
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I retired from a university and they told us they would micromanage less but did the exact opposite. Many meetings about the most trivial things, and took away from our work time.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
All of the above. I Work to live not the other way around. Come 5.00 Im outta there
JustNik · 51-55, F
Just the time it takes. Makes it hard to squeeze everything in.
I dislike that people are managed by idiots. Idiots in management that is. And they don't seem to get fired or replaced frequently. I also don't like that because something has been done a certain way for a long time, it continues. Some things need changing. I am used to being hired and organizing. Making positive changes.
