Do you think your employer monitors your Facebook account?

I know mine does... one example of how closely we are monitored is:

A colleague just got home one Sunday evening and decided to check his Facebook account. He noticed a friend request from a lady and just accepted and went on with his business.

The following Monday morning, just as he was about to get settled at his desk, he was approached by 2 people of our Forensics department and a security officer and was requested to accompany them to the Forensics department floor.

He was questioned there for over an hour before he was allowed to return to his desk.

I asked him what that was all about and he explained that the lady he accepted a friend request on Facebook from, was linked to a fraud syndicate and because he got linked to her, they had to investigate how involved he was (if he was).... no check this out...

The Forensics department presented him with print outs of his FB contact... but also his WHATSAPP contacts AND his BBM contacts (at the time he was using a Blackberry)...

Now THAT is how closely we get monitored at work 👀

That doesn't prove you get monitored, it just proves that with a warrant you get access to data. It makes perfect sense to follow the trail of a person committing fraud. It would have been weird if they would just randomly access your data and bring you to interrogation.

@kayoshin Lol they did not have a warrant. Our forensics department is NOT part of law enforcement. Its a private institution... However there are laws specific to the industry in which I work which requires monitoring... this is included in our employment contract, so we already know ahead of time that we are monitored.

We get targeted by Fraud Syndicates and this monitoring is done to help prevent "inside jobs".
