Entrepreneur Vs Employee?

Would you rather start your own business and work for yourself? Or would you rather be a subordinate in a big conglomerate of a company? I personally have my position on this, however, would be curious as to see what you think?

I've run my own company for over 20 years. It is a small non profit helping homeless people find work. I couldn't imagine being an employee.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User It would be difficult as I have to know you know where best to look for a job for you.

@SW-User Sounds good.

Pros and cons to both, being an entrepreneur is definitely more rewarding, but also more stressful, everything falls on you, whereas an employee does not have that level of stress.

Start with a basic training then try to explore your skills and then explore for yourself

i own my own business. I never thought i would. kind of fell in to it. Now that it is successful It gives me a lot of freedom and control. But, that is the exception. the first seven years were really hard. no vacations. lots of stress. you have to be self motivated. you make all the decisions. there were many times i wanted a simply paycheck and to forgot about the job at five. Some people thrive off that. For others it is better to have safety.

Personally I’d prefer entrepreneurship.
Autumn321 · 51-55, M
@Bean17 always best but initially should work as subordinate
Bean17 · 46-50, F
I mean in this day and age I don’t really think that’s necessary (or advisable if you hate being an employee and/or aren’t going to be a good one).😕@Autumn321

I'm A Firm Believer In Free Enterprise, Why Not Be Your Own Boss & Have Total Control Over Your Income As Well As Your Life.I Truly Feel That We In This Country Are Way Over Taxed and Should Have The Financial Freedom That We All Deserve. Why Should It Matter/Be Anyone's Business Of What Level Of Income That Any Individuals On? Freedom Should Be Free..Right?
Friends of mine that started their own business have said they never had to work so hard in their lives. I'd rather have a good paying job,go home and leave the headaches to others. I've had a lot of training, was a boss, took care of those I was in charge of and they worked their tails off for me. If they couldn't do something I'd do it.

My own business

I plan to start my own business. I definitely can't do the corporate thing ever again, it's awful in sooo many ways. And I'm not gonna spend my days making someone else rich
Wayne91 · 31-35, M
I would prefer both. Work as an employee at the start of the career. Then with experience and with considerable investment, could potentially run my own business...
Just my thoughts 😉

It depends. I mean if I could be successful in a Business of my own then yes. But that is hard to do. A good company is a good solid paycheck.
Autumn321 · 51-55, M
Start career with working as subordinate, gain experience and then after some time look for entrepreneurship
Gforce1163 · 56-60, M
I have done both but definitely prefer working for myself which is what I've been doing for the past five years.

I was in job, and now have working as freelancer. I am open to both depending on opportunities and scenarios/circumstances.
