What adverse event would it take for your place of work to close for the day?

There are two cars in the car park today, normally there are thirty 🌨❄☃

Haha at my old employer unless it was a holiday (one of the 3 federally recognized ones) we were always open. Ha once we completely lost our computers and power and we had to do everything manually. I used to work at a dump (and actual one where people dump their trash) it would be all hands on deck to help the scale operators and the cashiers do their jobs, track tickets and cash.

@KaysHealingPath ugh that first one sounds awful! If nothing is working, be a human being and let people go home! 😫

@CheshireCatalyst I always prayed they would but nope- garbage is big business
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
@KaysHealingPath and big business is garbage! :)

Closest thing to that happening was a really bad storm that was approaching. Turned out to be all bark and no bite but still, work didn't want to take risks wisely enough.

@5thApprentice It's fair. You have to think about the well being of your staff.

My work wouldn't be cancelled on account of adverse events. As a matter of fact we would probably be working longer hours.

@SW-User same here, that's what inspired the question. When somebody dies I have to come in rather than stay home.

The building would be on fire and they'd still make us sit in it

@CheshireCatalyst it's the goody two shoes that "manage" to make it into work that ruin it for us people who enjoy a free day off work lol
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
@GLITTER I have to, buildings would figuratively fall down if I wasn't there to hold them up!
GLITTER · 36-40, F
@CheshireCatalyst its a lot of pressure to put on yourself dude 😖😔
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
@SW-User haha when the diggers can't even extricate themselves 😂

@CheshireCatalyst this is still my favourite blizzard picture from here

Snow day!!!!

When I was working my pace of work shut down the day after 7/7
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
@InOtterWords I think that's pretty reasonable. As the manager of a place I would want to stay open to show those explody fuckwits that they can't affect us, but I understand the decision.
